Life in the Outdoors

Jason's bighorn sheep (2010)! Our first year of dating, and most of it was learning how to field judge a ram. I ended up being better at it than he was!

First hunt with my husband 2010

Same deer, morning after! 2010

2009 buck

First successful elk hunt (2002)! I was not successful, but everyone else was; I was the only one holding a bull tag, and there was only one bull who never broke away for me to shoot!

First ever buck! 2001

I LOVE to shoot things!

Newest addition (2012)! My Ruger LC9. Pretty sure I'm in love with it.

Not sure why mine are always so small...

Quite possibly the biggest fish I have ever caught (first fish, 6 years old!)

I hunt because I grew up with hunters. My grandpa first taught me to shoot and the kinds of animals we hunt, my grandma is an avid rock chuck eliminator, my dad thinks he's DeanoMightyHunter, my uncle is a buck master, my great-uncle has his walls decorated with bears, a tiger, and several deer.

I hunt because I love the fact that I am helping the environment. Yes, killing, skinning, and eating wild animals helps the environment. It saves species from disease, endangerment, and it's healthier than eating processed meat from the store!

I hunt because I can share it with my husband. The man I chose to love and share my life with just happens to love the outdoors as much as I do. Our first camping trip was the trip from hell, our tent tore, everything inside was soaked, and we got rocks in our supper, but it was when I decided I could  marry this guy!

I hunt because it is an American tradition that was passed on to me and will be passed on to my babies. I don't think enough people take advantage of our public lands to the full potential, and I would like to change that!

I hunt because I am a strong woman, and feel stronger when I am in the wilderness.
